Case Study
Working With Designers
Recently, we worked with an interior designer, whose client had specific needs for an upcoming residence hall. She needed a room solution that fit her client’s needs. She wanted to work with a manufacturer who would listen to what she needed, and would be able to build a quality product according to her specifications.
She came to us through our Sales Representative, and the conversation began about what she needed. Sketches were produced, materials identified, dimensions noted, and the design was started. We went through 2 different quoting activities, getting a feel for what we could or couldn’t do within budget. When we were comfortable, we built the first set of full-sized samples for review.
This is an important step. Seeing custom product, full-size, gives the customer and the manufacturer a good benchmark to begin refining the design, making the changes that are only become apparent when the product is seen and touched. The product was shipped to their site. The client got a feel for the design and scale of the furniture. Their confidence grew as they were able to see the product. Excitement began to build.
Changes needed were identified. The final quote was generated, and production began. The product shipped on-time, and the customer ended up with a solution they wanted.
